Suddenly

I went to see Les Miserables in the theatre with my parents on Christmas Day....  with, trepidation.  I only knew one of the actors for sure could sing from my own personal experience with them.

Years earlier I had seen the musical on stage and it moved me past tears and touched something deep inside.  Many I know have had this happen.  I have listened to the soundtrack countless times.... and what, what was the movie industry going to do to it.....

The singing was filmed live, not dubbed in.  It was raw, not perfect soundbooth sound.  But it made the actors live the moments.

They. nailed. it.

All the earlier trepidations were gone and all the love I have for the musical returned and washed over me, over all three of us.

See it.  Put your judgements of perfection away and let it just wash over you as an experience.  I dare you not to be moved.

And Suddenly, you will see magic.

Helpers

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” - Mr. Rogers
